2005-11-25 Berlin-Moscow Dialogue - 7. December 2005

The Berlin-Moscow Dialogue is an initiative of the former Ambassador to the European Union, Dr. Ottokar Hahn, the ZDF (the second public service television station in Germany), and Berlin Partner. This discussion roundtable offers journalists and prominent personalities from Russia and Germany a platform – in both Berlin and Moscow – from which to inform and discuss the current situation in Russia. The Dialogue takes place at the Dresdner Bank on the Potsdamer Platz in cooperation with the German-Russian Forum and the Dresdner Bank.

Young Architects from the new EU-Mebers in the German Architectural Center (DAZ)

More than 70 young Architectural Offices will be presentes in the exhibition „Emerging Identities – EAST!“ in the German Architectural Center (DAZ). Starting from Berlin the exhibition shows a architectural foray through the contemporary building szene in the metropolises of th enew countries of middle and eastern Europe. The main focus is set on the built projects of young architects. The prsentation will be supplemented by the opening symposium "positions" and an accompanying program.

Exhibition starts at 24 November 2005 – 20. February 2006 in the in the German Architectural Center (DAZ), Koepenicker Str. 48/49 in 10179 Berlin. Opening Times: Tue–Fri 10am–6pm and Sat/Sun 2am–6pm. closed from 20.12.2005 - 03.01.2006..

2005-09-01 The Moscow Workshops results in big success

After days of lively discussion, hard work and a well attended exhibition the moscow part of the archXchange project is over. The challenging topic of the workshop site , the open minded debates, moderated by Jan Stoermer and James Mac Adam, and especially the creative efforts of all partcipants contribute to the inspirative workshops results. They were presented first to the public in the exhibition opening at ARTplay , which was visited by a large amount of people, not solely from Russia or German origin, but from a broad variety of european countries.

The first manifestation of the archXchange project is going to be held in Moscow this month. Six young architectural teams from Germany and Russia will take part in a workshop from 14 to 19 August accompanied by the moderators James Mac Adam (London/Moscow) and Jan Störmer (Hamburg). They will draw a vision for the conversion of Moscow’s Danilovskaya manufacture into a cultural centre. The results will be presented in an exhibition from 19 to 25 August 2005 in the Design Center ARTPLAY in Moscow.

The Center for Contemporary Architecture Moscow (CSA) and team05 from Berlin would like to invite you to the public presentation and opening of the exhibition in the Design Center ARTPLAY, ulica Timura Frunze 11/34, Moscow on 19 August 2005, 7 p.m.

Arkitektskap was chosen, alongside the architectural firms Snøhetta and LPO, to develop a proposal on how Sørenga container harbour in Oslo could be developed into a new residential area with completion in 2008. The 70 acre area is to encompass 1200 new housing units and will play a vital role in the ongoing regeneration and transformation of Oslo’s waterfront.

Ute Langkafel how provides archXchange with photos of Berlin and Moscow opens a Photosupermarket and Installation with 50 large scale pgroßformatiger photos from Beyoglu, Kreuzberg and Kadikoy from 18. – 21. August, 12.00am – 12pm at the unusal place of the Festsaal Kreuzberg, Skalitzer Str. 130, 10999 Berlin. The exhibition provides shows everyday pictures and exceptional perspectives, which raise the question, wheter they take place in Berlin and Istanbul.

The Vernissage will take place at Thursday, 18. August 6 pm
